One Glazed Donut Please

This post isn’t really about sweets. That was just a ploy to pique your interest, because who doesn’t like a sweet treat?

This post is really about “nudity” and how irritated I am that a recent painting of mine was deemed by the chair of a local juried art show to be “not acceptable for this show” because of an abstracted naked breast that could very well be a glazed donut for all its realism.

Oh, the freakin’ horror! Shameful! Pornographic! Our children (who really don’t attend art shows) could be harmed! People could be embarrassed!

Screw all that.

I could rant for hours about American hypocracy about the female breast, but I’ll spare you all that since I’m sure you are well aware.

All I really want to do is show you the painting. I don’t have gallery representation at this point, so my only option to have anyone see it is social media and, well, here.

So here’s my lovely lady, in all her glory. I hope it brings you a little smile and joy.
