When I am intimidated by a blank canvas, I know what to do: scribble, splat, drip and smear until it stops looking like a great white nemesis. A blank page, I’m not so good at vanquishing. Oh look, there I went and did it.
Wait! What happened to the newsletter?
I’ve decided to move my newsletter and blog posts from my website to the Substack platform for two reasons. First, it’s faster and easier for me to create content here, and secondly, it will allow you and your fellow readers to interact with me and one another in a far more natural manner. I will continue to send monthly newsletters from my website, www.marybethbradbury.com, so you can still get them via email if that is your preferred method, but you can also subscribe here and have current content as well as archived posts. I plan to continue weekly blog posts as well, in both places for now, but I hope this works better for all of us and I can abandon double posting. Please let me know what you think.
I want to start a conversation!
I love to talk with interesting people, people who have ideas and opinions. If y ou are my friend already, you are, no doubt one of those people. If we are not yet acquainted, well, let’s do that! My hope is that this will be a place we can talk about art, the creative process, what I’m doing, what you are doing, what is sparking your creative interest at the moment, and whatever else you have to say about what you might see and read here or just creativity in general.
What’s next?
I’ll publish newsletter at the end of each month, so there will be one coming up this weekend, and blog posts weekly, or more often if I’m feeling lonely or verbose.
